Let it Snow

The picture I made for my Mom's birthday card. She likes snowmen.

Learn to Fly

First off, Merry Christmas! It's been a while!
I'm not gonna say too much, since it's 2:20 AM and I need some sleep, but I got a tablet for Christmas, and this is the first picture to come out of it. It takes some getting used to, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it.
I'm sure there will be more to come very soon. :)

Bored in class...

Every once in a while, when we got bored in chemistry, myself and the few people who sat next to me would put random shapes onto another's page, and then they would have to make a picture out of it.

These are two of my favorites... And in all fairness, Zoe should get some credit for the excellent lines drawn in ink.

Evil Eye

I have lots of doodles that are scanned that I could post, but most of them are very... blah... if that makes sense. Anyways, I'm hoping to get a tablet sometime soonish, so I'll be doodling tons then.

Ghetto Scan - Popcorn

Not recommended for human consumption.

...zzz

Yeeep. This blog hasn't been updated in about a week. Here's something that's been sitting on the hard drive. I've been super busy, and haven't scanned any new doodles (although they do exist). I'll have a ghetto scan for tomorrow and I'll scan some more pics right away. I also plan to do a colored picture of my kitty, who just passed away :( Lastly, I'm almost done a PS3 theme for my Blue Flaming Wolf, but I doubt any of the few people who check this have a PS3. Too bad 360's can't ACTUALLY be customized. Stupid M$.

So in conclusion, I'm super busy, but there will be new soon, even a few decent pieces.

Shark!

It's... a shark.

Turtle Power

Another ninja turtles doodle.

Another cat-person...

Uhhh... I really like Lackadaisy. So when I zone out and end up with stuff like this, that's probably why.

Mario!

It's-a-me!
And no, I don't haven't been playing Super Mario Galaxies yet but I've been wishing I was.

Birds

While I don't think I did a great job of showing what kind of birds they're supposed to be, I do think they look pretty bird-like. They're supposed to be an owl, a penguin and a raven.

Ghetto Scan - Prom Dress

Uhh... It's a prom dress. Done with chalk pastels.

And this concludes Ghetto Scan Week.

Ghetto Scan - Masking Tape Wrapped... Thing

This was something wrapped in masking tape. I have no idea what. I might rework this a bit more and get rid of the solid line, because I'm not sure if we're "allowed" to outline like that or if we have to make it look more realistic.

Ghetto Scan - Food Colored Water in Vases

This is my most hated art thing ever. It took forever and turned out poorly, but in order to have 5 pieces of "art" on here in 5 days, it needs to be posted. My first attempt at using chalk pastels, and having to draw one of the most crazy things possible... sooo many reflections... The pastels also wouldn't always stick to the page very nicely...

Oh well, I'll stop complaining. The next two aren't quite as terrible. Enjoy(ish).

Ghetto Scan - Tin Foil Dog

We had to make something with tin foil then attempt to draw it. I attempted to make a dog. It looked fairly dog-like, especially in real life. Drastic generalizations were used so that this wouldn't take hundreds of hours.

Ghetto Scan - Eggs

Alrighty, so I need to get a bunch of art stuff done by Thursday, so this week will be ghetto scan week. Should be able to get 5 'done in art class' pictures in 5 days. Some good, some meh.

Anyways, we had to draw some eggs. It was an amazingly boring thing to draw.

Evil Clown

Stefan told me to draw a clown in physics. I decided to make the clown annoyed at Stefan.

Happy Halloween!

Alrighty, so here's a few Halloween doodles. You guys didn't expect consistently decent pictures did you? This one is sorta how I envisioned my Halloween costume (I was a mad scientist).

Demon thingy?

Here's a black cat. It doesn't really look like a black cat, I know, but I drew one that looked more like a cat and it didn't look nearly as devious as this one.

The horseless headman.

Mother Nature

So that's why my black pen has run out of ink.

This is something I did on my clip-board when I got bored. It looks better in real life, as the scanner doesn't do a great job of scanning things which aren't perfectly flat.

Blue Flaming Wolf

Wow... Post 100. Crazy.

This is a wolf. With fire. Blue fire. And uhh... well I shouldn't have to describe it, it's right there. Click on the second pic to see a little animation of how it all came together.

This took me quite a while. I experimented forever with the backgrounds. First I had just more fire in the background, but it didn't stand out then. Then I sorta decided to get it standing on water. It's hard to draw a quadruple interference pattern with reflections, so I settled on this.

While I didn't really think about it while I was making it, looking at it now shows some fairly obvious influences. :P

Rocker

I drew this after my chem prof said something about throwing a "monkey wrench" into the works. I had the song "Monkey Wrench" by the Foo Fighters in my head for the rest of class.

Tuesday, October 23, 2007

Dog

I'll scan something new tomorrow. I have more, better doodles but they're not in the computer. The colored thing for post 100 is looking very good.

Monkey

Here's a monkey. Michelle told me to draw it during chemistry. She drew one too. Hers was more monkey-like, albeit more cartoony :P

Something colored coming for post 100. The main part of it is done, just need to add a background/some lighting effects etc.

Post 95

I can't think of names for random people anymore... Anyways, I like it, although the proportions are off.

I might try and make something awesome for post 100. If not, it'll be the usual... let's see if I have time and effort :P

P.S. Okami is sweet!

Ghetto Scan - Black Rose

Black Roses! Done in art class!

Tuesday, October 9, 2007

Kung Foo

[Insert boring and/or meaningless comment here]

Monday, October 8, 2007

Scarf... guy.

Although I didn't draw it, I picture this guy in a super old plane with his head sticking out.

Friday, October 5, 2007

Ghetto Scan - Baloons

Alright, so ghetto scan means I took a picture of it... This is my first actual picture from my drawing class. It's supposed to be kind of a close up of some balloons, which were covered in plastic to make them stay together. It was also my first ever time drawing with charcoal.

Flight... Inspired... Thingy...

The only explanation I have for this is that I've been reading the Flight books lately and there's a story with a little fuzzy guy (much like you see there)and his crazy adventures in each book... he rides a whale (?) in one... for serious.

Gamer...

This is basically every single person on xbox live. For serious.

The Chief.

OK, so I was gonna try and draw a Master Chief from Halo... a somewhat detailed version of Master Chief... then I realized I have absolutely no idea how any of the armor detail looks, so I made it all up. It looks odd... He's too tall/not wide enough and has some pretty funky looking pieces of armor, but overall, I'd say it's not too bad.

Cartoon Series - ANiS

So here's Anis. He's in China right now, but I started this before he left so that's not represented in the picture. There is, however a bunch of inside jokes. For one, Anis is often considered to be a monkey, due in part to the fact that he can do a near perfect monkey impression, and likes bananas. The whole F-Fart thing? Well, I'm not even going to try to explain that. Either you know about it or you don't. Finally, he also has (had) sweet sideburns and tons of chest hair. Remember Anis, even if you shave it/wax(?!) it off, it lives on in all our hearts.

Drunk... Cat Person

This picture is inspired by Lackadaisy which has become one of my favorite web comics as of late. Tracy J. Butler's art is amazingly detailed, and her expressions are always perfect. I wish I could draw like that. Probably my favorite pictures of hers can be found here.

Farm Girl

Well, I drew her face and for some reason just thought "farm girl" so that's what I drew. My brain is interesting like that.

Wednesday, September 19, 2007

Groove

I'm not really sure if I like the person in this one... there's a lot of things wrong with it. I do, however, like the idea, so here it is.

Tuesday, September 18, 2007

More people...

I'm starting to run out of names for all these pictures. Anyhow, did this during a chem lecture.

A robot with a heart.

Uhh... yep. I was nearly falling asleep during my computer science lecture and this ended up on my page.

UFO

Well... this one didn't scan very nicely, but it's supposed to be a UFO over a city.

Exploring DNA

Alright, so this isn't a very pretty doodle, but I like the idea behind it. Climbing the twisted ladder. I mean, make it neater, add some crazy colors and you have the cover for one of those $150 text books.

Some Guy in a Uniform

School's back on, and that means I have a lot more class time to doodle. I also have an art class this year, so with a little luck, my doodles will improve!
Here's some guy for you. I have a few more sketches scanned, some good, some brutal, but we'll see what gets posted.

Cartoon Series - Kieran

After a really long time of me saying I was gonna draw this, here's Kieran. He said he wanted to be fighting a bear, so I kind of thought of the most unconventional way to do so. He, along with Jay are badminton partners, so they play(ed) a lot of badminton. He has purple shoes (which are sweet even though no one will say it out loud), and likes his RAZR much more than he would ever admit. Oh well, he's a cool guy nonetheless.
