CSSS Mechagodzilla!

Okay, so I have a lot of art, and a humongous lack of updates, so I'm going to try to updating this thing at LEAST once every three days again. Even if I don't draw something cool once every three days, I haven't posted anything for so long that I probably have a good month's worth of stuff. So without further ado, I present to you the CSSS Mechagodzilla. More to come.

CSSS Robot Logo!

Here is a logo I did for the CSSS! It's apparently the one we're going with for our main logo now. I have another pretty awesome CSSS logo that I'll post as well once I get around to cleaning it up. Also, lots of sketches, so that'll be up here once I get a chance to scan some things. Soon hopefully!

I decided I'm gonna try and draw a figure every day now. Here's one.

What?

A mix of boredom and not having any creative ideas usually leads to me drawing some sort of animal...

Mother Nature - T-Shirt Design

Alright, so I've thought about trying to make this one into a t-shirt design for a while now, and when Jeff posted here about his website, tasty threads, an environmentally friendly t-shirt company which uses the same idea as Threadless to get designs, I figured it could be a good fit. If you're gonna sign up, please use my link, above, as there's some sort of referral program.

Anyhow, done in flash, which clearly does not like intricate designs like this. It kept telling me it didn't have enough memory... Very annoying. It was also quite a challenge, because you can only use a maximum of 5 colors (plus the background). Oh well, enjoy!

Here's the link to my submission: http://tastythreads.com/node/306

EDIT: No luck. Oh well, I plan to make it better and submit to threadless :P

Monocle Rocky

So... I really like Lackadaisy.

I was going for the "trying to look suave, but not really sure how to use a monocle" look, you know, pretty standard. In retrospect, seeing how expressions aren't exactly my forté, I might have been wise to draw him doing something else. Oh well, live and learn.

Inspired by performers at a variety night I went to recently.

Amaterasu

Okami is, one of the most beautiful and innovative games out there. If you have a PS2, Wii, or I suppose even a PS3 , please check it out.

Anyhow, I got a new sketch book. Here's the first page.

P.S. It's surprising how much stuff my scanner just turns white... Maybe I need to adjust some settings, because this has a lot of detail lost.

Moonchance

It is finally complete.

Needless to say this took me a really long time to make. It's a picture of my cat, Moonchance. She was awesome, but unfortunately passed away last fall. I've been trying to get this picture done ever since I got my tablet at Christmas, but stuff kept coming up.

It was made in photoshop, at a ridiculously high resolution (I was thinking of making it into a poster), and I used a reference for the kitty, and a very loose reference for the moon. I finished drawing Moonchance quite a while ago, but the problem was that since she was so detailed, I had to make the rest of the picture pretty detailed as well, so that nothing would look out of place. As a side note, every single star was hand drawn (well... clicked). Why? Because I'm LOCO, clearly, and once I'd decided to do it that way, it seemed like all that time would have been wasted if I had stopped half way through.

Anyhow, here it is. Enjoy. :)

Ghetto Scan: TV Show

This one was done with charcoal in art class. It was kind of a neat process because the teacher put up slides, one at a time, and we had to choose an element from within a slide and integrate it into the picture. For this one, I took a TV from the first slide, the girl from the second slide, a bedpost (which I tried to turn into a fence) from the third, a sort of cabbage patch from the fourth and part of an old stove (which I tried to make into a building) in the fifth.

Fan Art: Ratchet & Clank

This is Ratchet and Clank, characters from one of my favorite series of video games. If you have a PS2, a PS3 or a PSP, I highly recommend you check one of their games out.

I'm gonna start doing some fan art doodles every once in a while now. Why? Because I love some of these characters. Also, by trying to imitate another artist's style, you can learn some tricks to use in your own stuff :)

Oh, and for the record, I'm not straight up copying, but using a reference picture or two, and trying to draw something interesting.

Tired out...

I've been working out and playing basketball a little bit more often lately...
