Brittany

Another random figure-a-day drawing. I'm not posting all of them because some are terrible, and others are *cough*nude*cough*...

MERRY (belated) CHRISTMAS!!!

I started drawing this one on Christmas day, as one of my figures that I've been drawing every day, but then I got tired, and decided I'd finish it later. Anyhow, Merry Christmas!

Mira

I decided I'm gonna try and draw a figure every day now. Here's one.

SKETCH DUMP

Well, I've been completely neglecting this thing lately, due to lack of time and drawings. Anyhow, I finally got a bunch of pictures put together, and I figure I'll just post them all at once, because I tend to forget to update this consistently if I just post one at a time. I may post a few more in the near future, if I get around to scanning/taking/drawing them. :)

Something new(ish)

Well, school has hit me like a ton of bricks. This can explain the huge lack of updates. Here's something I cooked up real quick to get that last image off of the top. Hopefully I'll be able to get some more stuff on here soonish.

Disjointed Images

Some random doodles from in class. Apparently this year in art we're going to be doing a lot of figure studies, so similar to the rough outline of the person in this pic.

Bus Trip Memoirs

A few weeks ago I went to PAX in Seattle. We took the bus from Calgary, which ended up taking somewhere around 21 hours. My DS battery soon died (I'd forgotten to charge it before we left) and I had a lot of time on my hands. At one point we saw a bear on the side of the road. When the bus emptied a bit, I got lucky enough to get two seats, and have a sleep. It wasn't at all comfortable however, and due to an air conditioner over my head, I was getting heavily dripped on from condensation on the window whenever we went around a corner. These were both done on a bumpy bus along the way there. Oh, and expect to see doodles pretty much every day again, but don't expect quality :p

Stray

Well, I've been playing around with opencanvas a bit lately. It's awesome. Also, free (well, the old one is). Anyhow, I figured I should post something new on here, so I did a quick ~30 minute sketch. It's very, very rough, but because of the color, it's better than a lot of the stuff I used to post on here, so here it is.

EDIT:...looks like opencanvas made things a lot darker when it exported them...

Sora

Wow, it's been a while... so much for keeping it going over the summer. Anyhow, here's a sketch I did of Sora from Kingdom Hearts, one of my favorite games of all time.

Bzzzzzzz...

I actually sneezed on this picture... turns out drool isn't good for paper... it's been slightly edited to fix things.

What?

A mix of boredom and not having any creative ideas usually leads to me drawing some sort of animal...

Leo, now in technicolor!

Alright, so recently someone (Kari) saw my old Leo the Lion picture, and asked me if she could use it in a chemistry presentation. I offered to color it. Here is the end result. It isn't anything particularly fancy, but I believe it's a step up from the previous version ^^'

Also, I have a few pics done in my sketch book, but I've been too lazy to scan them. They'll be up here sometime soon-ish.

Mother Nature - T-Shirt Design

Alright, so I've thought about trying to make this one into a t-shirt design for a while now, and when Jeff posted here about his website, tasty threads, an environmentally friendly t-shirt company which uses the same idea as Threadless to get designs, I figured it could be a good fit. If you're gonna sign up, please use my link, above, as there's some sort of referral program.

Anyhow, done in flash, which clearly does not like intricate designs like this. It kept telling me it didn't have enough memory... Very annoying. It was also quite a challenge, because you can only use a maximum of 5 colors (plus the background). Oh well, enjoy!

Here's the link to my submission: http://tastythreads.com/node/306

EDIT: No luck. Oh well, I plan to make it better and submit to threadless :P

Monocle Rocky

So... I really like Lackadaisy.

I was going for the "trying to look suave, but not really sure how to use a monocle" look, you know, pretty standard. In retrospect, seeing how expressions aren't exactly my forté, I might have been wise to draw him doing something else. Oh well, live and learn.

Mike had a picture of his dog. I had a pen. This is what resulted.

Amaterasu

Okami is, one of the most beautiful and innovative games out there. If you have a PS2, Wii, or I suppose even a PS3 , please check it out.

Anyhow, I got a new sketch book. Here's the first page.

P.S. It's surprising how much stuff my scanner just turns white... Maybe I need to adjust some settings, because this has a lot of detail lost.

More People

Back to ordinary doodles. I have a bunch from when school is on, and this year, I'm gonna try and keep it up over the summer too.

Moonchance

It is finally complete.

Needless to say this took me a really long time to make. It's a picture of my cat, Moonchance. She was awesome, but unfortunately passed away last fall. I've been trying to get this picture done ever since I got my tablet at Christmas, but stuff kept coming up.

It was made in photoshop, at a ridiculously high resolution (I was thinking of making it into a poster), and I used a reference for the kitty, and a very loose reference for the moon. I finished drawing Moonchance quite a while ago, but the problem was that since she was so detailed, I had to make the rest of the picture pretty detailed as well, so that nothing would look out of place. As a side note, every single star was hand drawn (well... clicked). Why? Because I'm LOCO, clearly, and once I'd decided to do it that way, it seemed like all that time would have been wasted if I had stopped half way through.

Anyhow, here it is. Enjoy. :)

Tarzan!... lamp.

Another one for art class. This is the last one from this year. My colored good picture is actually almost done now. For real. But I always say that and don't get it done for a month so... Hopefully soon!

mmmmm... piiiiie...

Ghetto Scan: Memory Lane

Yep, so another back of a person... real original eh? For this one, we had to incorporate:

1. A neurotic space
2. Something we thought was fantastic
3. Something from out past

So, here's my result:

1. The power lines overhead and the walls closing in are supposed to make it kind of claustrophobic
2. It's based off of a Japanese/Tokyo street
3. The signs represent my lake, 101 Dalmations, Garfield, Mario, Pokémon, soccer/basketball, computers, school and work...

Ghetto Scan: Sunset Beach

Done in chalk pastel.

I had to fix up a few of the other pics I've posted recently and the updated versions are now there too.

Ghetto Scan: Value Village Grab Bag

Revised Version:

Again, done in art...

It should be noted that a LOT is lost when taking a picture of this one.

Ghetto Scan: TV Show

This one was done with charcoal in art class. It was kind of a neat process because the teacher put up slides, one at a time, and we had to choose an element from within a slide and integrate it into the picture. For this one, I took a TV from the first slide, the girl from the second slide, a bedpost (which I tried to turn into a fence) from the third, a sort of cabbage patch from the fourth and part of an old stove (which I tried to make into a building) in the fifth.

Ghetto Scan: Music

Alright, so basically, the digitally colored picture I'm working on is taking a LOOOOONG time to make. I promised something colored for post 150, and thanks to my camera having come back in, this is something colored! This was done in art class and is supposed to be kind of graffiti styled. And if you're wondering, the last doodle (149) is loosely based on this.

I have a few more art class pictures to post, but I'm gonna try and finish my digitally colored pic before I post any more rough doodles. Wish me luck :P
